Collective Podcast Sermons for threshold faith communities.

April 19, 2016

Though culture and traditional education seem obsessed with how it is that we can rightly teach children - best prepare them for the world of what they need to know - last week we began a conversation about what it is we might learn from children. This is the question of much of Eastern spirituality, and one of the most provocative images presented by Jesus. We started last week with humility and the beginner's mind. This week we go deeper into the posture and wonder of faith like a child.

This week we begin a three week exploration surrounding the theme of children. We often think of children as hard drives which download data, and call this learning; Or sponges, which simply soak things up. What if, instead of viewing children as data receptacles, we looked at children as the ones from who we have so much to learn. What if we could not only recall, but relive our childhood postures of genuine curiosity, wonder, joy, and trust? Join us as we look to children to guide our formation.
