This week we'll be weaving together a number of threads, including a couple of baptisms, and an exciting report from a couple Collective folks about a recent summer theological institute. We'll make these connections through the parable of the pearl, Harry Potter, and a ship of fools. We'll ask some important questions about how faith is so often understood as a fixed commodity, a point of arrival, when faith is so often experienced as a meandering, lived in process.

Join us this week as we hear from our friend Christy Correll-Hughes, continuing our exploration of the value and contribution of women. We'll move through her story, her personal experience, and her imagery of God as mother, helping us to reimagine God through feminine imagery.

This week, we begin a month of celebrating, honoring, and learning from the leadership of women in our tradition, in communities of faith, and in the life of Collective, specifically. From naming the patriarchy that has shaped religion and excluded women, to the motherhood of God, to the heroic women, storied in our faith tradition, to the faiths of women of diverse traditions, Join us as we emphasize women in leadership, honor the radical equality and inclusion of the Christian faith, even as we transcend traditional gender binaries.

This week we continue our exploration of unconditional welcome and the risk of hospitality, with a reflection and conversation, between Ben and Lindsey, on pluralism. We'll look at the increasing pluralism of different faith, traditions and religions in our culture, with whom we live, and to whom we might extend generous welcome. We will look as well at the plurality of different beliefs within the family of our own religious tradition. Join us for a very engaging and conversational engagement with this topic, where your voice and thoughts will contribute to our shared experience.

This week we explore a lesser told story in the Christmas narrative, and make a connection between welcoming the stranger, and welcoming the new year. When we encounter the unknown, we must chose how to interact. when these interactions become reactions, we risk compromising hospitality and justice. Join us to engage and discuss.
