This week we'll be weaving together a number of threads, including a couple of baptisms, and an exciting report from a couple Collective folks about a recent summer theological institute. We'll make these connections through the parable of the pearl, Harry Potter, and a ship of fools. We'll ask some important questions about how faith is so often understood as a fixed commodity, a point of arrival, when faith is so often experienced as a meandering, lived in process.

As the season of lent comes to a conclusion, we are held on Palm Sunday in the tension of ascent and descent. We know we are headed toward the death of Jesus, but Palm Sunday swells with pride as Jesus processes into Jerusalem. This week we tie together the the themes of vice and virtue, with the historical-political realities surrounding Jesus' last week; But we ultimately allow these themes and narratives to turn on us, to ask of us, questions about our allegiances, our commitments, and the roles in which we imagine ourselves in our own stories.

This week our Primary series will move us through the story of the Red Sea, toward baptism and Eucharist. We'll celebrate the baptism of Jackson Ballenger and make connections to the ways the uncertain journey of life and faith draw us into a profound belonging.

This week we bring together our month-long focus on water, the theme of birth (in honor of mother's day), and the tension in the relationship between the practice we control, and the elements of the spiritual experience we can't control. Through the inspiration and challenge of our liturgy - exciting new music, words and silence, readings, Baptism, Eucharist and more. Come as you are. 5PM.
